🧡 Luca X Zoe: The 30-Day Crusade to Bring a 4-Year-Old Girl to the Clinical Trial That Could Change Her Story

As the Santino Pizarro Carrizo Foundation, this Sunday May 17th we are launching a one-month campaign to raise 70 million Chilean pesos and fund little Zoe’s journey to Spain, where a clinical trial could change the course of her story. DIPG cannot wait: Zoe has only one month of window to be able to travel.

Zoe’s Story

Zoe is a 4-year-old girl who was diagnosed in January of this year with DIPG, the most aggressive pediatric brain tumor that exists. She underwent radiation therapy and a biopsy in Ecuador — procedures that caused hydrocephalus requiring emergency surgery and the placement of a shunt. And despite everything, Zoe is still here. Still fighting. And as the Fundación Santino Pizarro Carrizo, we are organizing a major crusade to get her the medical care she needs in Europe.

30 Days of Campaign and One Clear Goal

This Sunday May 17th, “Luca X Zoe” kicks off — a 30-day campaign running through June 17th, with one specific objective: raise 70 million pesos to fund all travel expenses for Zoe and her family to Spain, including flights, accommodation and food during her treatment.

A First Stage Already Completed

The Fundación SPC already took a fundamental first step alongside Zoe’s family: funding and coordinating her first international medical consultation to evaluate her case and apply for the clinical trial. That stage is complete. Zoe qualifies.

Now comes the second stage, the most urgent and the most costly: getting her to Spain so she can begin the experimental treatment. That is the goal of “Luca X Zoe.”

Spain: The Only Real Option

The clinical trial Zoe has been accepted into is in Spain, one of the few countries in the world where active experimental treatments for DIPG exist. In Ecuador, in Chile and across most of Latin America, this disease has no answer. No protocols, no access to research, no options. Spain is today Zoe’s hope, and her family’s. And getting there has a real cost that her family cannot cover alone.

How Does the Campaign Work?

Over the next 30 days, the foundation will publish daily content to keep the campaign alive: updates on Zoe’s condition, videos with invitations to donate, fundraising progress and behind-the-scenes work to make this journey possible. Media outlets will also be approached to join the crusade and help amplify the message.

The goal is 70 million pesos. It’s an ambitious goal but it’s possible if enough people decide to contribute their part.

This is a campaign driven by the Fundación SPC with a deep conviction: when thousands of hearts come together, miracles can happen. It doesn’t matter whether you can give a lot or a little. It doesn’t matter where you are. What matters is not looking the other way.
